How it works

SJI’s printing technology uses dichroic inks in a high resolution inkjet printer to transfer dyes to molecularly aligned PVA, thus forming a polarized image. Left and right eye polarization orientations are orthogonal to one another. The two images are superimposed and laminated together.

The addition of a quarter-wave retarder converts the polarization from linear to circular, affording a wide viewing angle with no crosstalk or distortion and providing freedom of head position and comfort in viewing.

When the StereoJet image is viewed through polarizing glasses, each eye sees only the assigned image. As in natural binocular vision, the brain integrates the two images to create the perception of a single realistic image with full depth.
